Dana Bruno: CRAZY SUBWAY STORY Submission Form

danabruno:

Living in NYC can be stressful. However, being here gives you the opportunity to meet so many enchanting characters, especially whilst riding public transportation.

My friend and I love to exchange commuting stories. She, especially, seems to be a magnet for the creeps, crazies and undesirables…

Victoria Nachos: I Am Not Disgusting.

victorianachos:

Remember: I am someone’s little sister, someone’s baby girl, someone’s friend, someone’s love. Please don’t be mean. My heart breaks the same as yours.

I can show you a picture, paint it on an easel, move your hand across the words in Braille but you’ll never really get it, unless you once…

When I was 18-ish, I wanted to surprise my Mom with a special gift for Mother’s Day. My Mom, a dog freak (where I get it from) was obsessed with our dog and did NOT look at dogs as simply “animals” but as members of the family. I know, some people ‘get it’ and some don’t.

With that in mind, and knowing how sentimental Mom was, I headed to the mall with our dog, Toni, so the two of us could do a photo shoot.

After the shoot, I decided how many 8 x 10’s, 5 x 7’s and wallets to get. Then, I noticed another option I HAD to choose - the 5 x 7 cardboard cutout of our photo to display on a wooden stand with a little gold plaque that said “Sisters” !!!

Mother’s Day came and I gave her “our” gift. As expected, tears immediately rolled down her face - she was so happy. Then, we laughed hysterically, because, as happy/emotional as she got, we also realized the humor in Toni and I doing a photo shoot.

I came across the photo this past weekend and shook my head while snickering at it.

I am so thankful for my Mom’s silly sense of humor!

LOVE and MISS you Mom and Toni!!!
